Bard’s New Upgrade: Gemini Pro Revolutionizes AI Experiences
Google has announced the launch of Gemini, a sophisticated AI model designed to elevate Bard, Google’s AI assistant, to a new level. With Gemini Pro, a component of Gemini, Bard receives a significant upgrade, available in over 170 countries and territories.
Gemini is specifically designed for flexibility and efficiency, offering three variants – Nano, Pro, and Ultra – capable of running on a wide range of devices from mobile devices to data centers. The integration of Gemini Pro into Bard marks the biggest update since its inception, with Bard Advanced featuring Gemini Ultra set to follow early next year.
Gemini Pro has shown impressive results in benchmark tests, surpassing the GPT-3.5 model in six out of eight benchmarks. These enhancements enable Bard to process, analyze, and summarize information more effectively and assist in ideation. In blind reviews, Bard was chosen as the preferred chatbot over leading alternatives.
The collaboration with YouTuber and educator Mark Rober demonstrated the practical application of Bard with Gemini Pro: crafting the most accurate paper airplane. This collaboration highlights the versatile usability and creativity enhancement through Bard.
The next phase, Gemini Ultra, is set to power Bard Advanced, a state-of-the-art AI experience capable of handling complex tasks such as understanding and incorporating texts, images, audio, video, and code. This will be made available to a selected group of Trusted Testers early next year before being rolled out to a wider audience.
